What we did
Over 300,000 14–17-year-olds in the UK are not in mainstream education, training or employment. Involvement in the care system, physical or mental health problems and poor attainment can propel them away from school and towards social exclusion, and over half the young people leaving custody have no access to education or training on release.
Flag was commissioned to produce Arts Enrichment materials to engage young people, provide them with opportunities to participate in creative activities that also offered comprising practitioners’ manuals, teaching resources, learners’ workbooks, and interactive CD-ROMs and DVDs. The packs are designed for use in prisons, probationary centres and youth offender institutions, and the materials utilise the expertise of arts practitioners, youth workers and teachers to support the programmes.
