Our work

A brand-new look

March 2016

Barry Callebaut wanted a strong new brand for the Foundation to promote its work and attract support.

Developing a strong identity

Leading chocolate manufacturer Barry Callebaut established the Cocoa Horizons Foundation (CHF), which seeks to improve the livelihoods of cocoa farmers and their communities, as part of its strategy to help shape a sustainable future for cocoa and chocolate.

To promote the CHF’s activities to existing and potential partners, and to attract financial support, we helped to develop a new brand and visual identity for the Foundation, working closely with thought leader Forum for the Future and film-maker Nice and Serious. We also ensured the findings from considerable internal and external stakeholder engagement fed into the process.

The outcome was a bright, contemporary, visually appealing style that could be used to immediately differentiate the CHF from other charitable foundations.

The special projects brochure used strong colours and people-focused images, combined with clear, concise copy.

Appealing to a wider audience

This new look and feel – outlined in a comprehensive brand guidelines document covering everything from logo use to photographic styling – was then applied to the CHF’s special projects brochure. This informed readers of the many projects they could choose to support, and how their money would directly benefit cocoa farmers. Opportunities ranged from funding a mobile education centre and supporting women and young farmers to building a school and providing communities with access to clean water.

The printed and digital collateral was created in collaboration with Nice and Serious.
